Kings of Leon

In March 2021, the Kings of Leon raised over $2m with their NFT sale. The collection contained the Kings of Leon’s new When You See Yourself LP, in a first-of-its-kind offering.
Their sale consisted of 3 tiers of NFTs. One tier a “golden ticket”, offering live show perks like front-row seats for life, one tier was a special album package, and the third was exclusive audiovisual art.
Golden Tickets
The “Golden Tickets” were perhaps the most interest part of this sale. These tickets guarantee the owner four front-row seats to one show of the Kings of Leon headline tour for life. They minted 18 of these tickets, auctioned 6, and “vaulted” the other 12 like a painter would do with a rare piece from a series of art.
Each “golden ticket” also unlocks an actual concert ticket — marking the first time a music ticket has been officially sold as an NFT. Whoever owns the token is guaranteed four front-row seats to any Kings of Leon concert during each tour for life. The token owner also gets a VIP experience that includes a personal driver, a concierge at the show to take care of their needs, a hangout with the band before the show, and exclusive lounge access. Upon leaving the show, the fan’s car will have four bags filled with every item from the merch booth.
Album Package
They also minted $50 NFT albums. Buyers owned a token on the blockchain from which they could download the record, exclusive moving artwork and a limited edition physical vinyl record, but then no more will be made and existing tokens can’t be reproduced. This makes the NFT itself a kind of digital limited edition with its own collectability and value, much like rare vinyl albums – you can sell it to another collector for whatever they’re prepared to pay for it.
Audiovisual Art
The band also minted six unique-looking tokens that are standard NFTs with elaborate audiovisual art
